The map boasts over 272,000 objects that can be easily managed through map layers that can be toggled on or off at your discretion.

All water charts can be conveniently downloaded for offline use.

Moreover, the app incorporates a wealth of additional features, such as hundreds of water level gauges with real-time data, tide curves, current sea weather, water temperature updates, navigation water depths, data from SAR stations, the complete Inland Waterways Police Regulations (BPR), and water quality information for various Dutch bathing locations. Additionally, users have access to the latest Shipping Notices detailing works and obstructions in the area.

Thanks to GPS functionality, users can track their speed and current coordinates through the app. A sailing route planner simplifies trip planning—simply input your starting and ending points on the Waterkaart Live chart to determine the quickest route along with information on bridges and locks along the way.

The integration of network AIS provides users with real-time ship positions in their vicinity.

The app also houses the complete and updated Inland Waterways Police Regulations (BPR), offering search functions and downloadable leaflets for easy reference—an invaluable resource for obtaining a boating license or familiarizing oneself with Dutch inland waterway traffic regulations.

The Waterkaart Live and BPR features can be fully utilized offline, although live information on bridges & locks, current water levels, and weather conditions require an internet connection. The same applies to current Shipping Notices.

An in-app subscription option is available within the app, which unlocks all functionalities for one year at a cost of €9.99. The subscription automatically renews unless canceled up to 24 hours before expiration. Users can manage subscriptions in the device system menu under account settings.
